Get the zero off the page. If you haven't already done so, sponsor yourself! Friends and family will be more likely to support you if they see your personal donation.

Share your personal URL (the direct website link to your fundraising page) with your friends, family, and coworkers. Let them know that you've made a commitment to do something big to help change the way all cancers are treated.

Create a timeline to help you reach your fundraising goal sooner. Plan to reach out to your existing network of family and friends and aim to add a new person or organization every week.

Contact local business and merchants for their support. Ask for donations and/or permission to promote your fundraiser.

Exploit your craziest talents. Go to the extreme!
Have sponsors donate $1 for every training mile you bike or run. Boost donations by saying you'll do something intriguing (shave your head?) when you reach your goal.

Great dates.
Use birthdays and other important dates to encourage donations of a certain amount. For example, give $14 on February 14 in honor of a loved one. Or $30 on your 30th birthday.

Give it up/ Give back.
Ask supporters to give up a daily beverage or meal and donate the money to your fundraising campaign instead. Show your supporters that their money counts. Volunteer your time to a friend or neighbor in exchange for a donation.

Party on.
Host a wine tasting, game night, theme party, or organize a potluck. Sell tickets, snacks, and refreshments for a donation.

Double your impact.
Remember to check if your or your supporters' employer will match incoming contributions. Many participants use this method to double their donation!

The power of 5 (or 10 or 20).

Ask supporters to donate $5 (or $10 or $20!) to your cause, post about the donation to their social media, tag five of their friends, and ask them to match the gift.
